Xbox Free Play Days: Six Games to Try This Weekend

If you've got an Xbox Game Pass subscription, this weekend's looking pretty good. From October 15 through October 18, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members can jump into Crusader Kings III, Bus Simulator 21, Soccer Story, and Ravenswatch at no extra cost. NBA 2K27 starts a day later, on October 16, and runs through October 18 if you want to check out the latest basketball sim.

There's also The Alters, which is offering a free 3-hour trial during the same October 15–18 period. The nice part: you don't need a Game Pass membership to try that one. It's open to everyone.

Beyond just playing for free, Xbox is running discounts on purchases if any of these games catch your eye and you want to own them outright. It's a good moment to sample something outside your usual rotation, whether that's the political intrigue of Crusader Kings III, the oddly meditative appeal of running a bus company, or something different like The Alters. Free Play Days are always a low-stakes way to find your next favorite game.
