Two Mecha Films Team Up for Joint Visual Campaign
Two mecha anime films are collaborating on a joint visual campaign.
Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart and Armored Trooper Votoms: The Gray Witch are cross-promoting with a shared mecha visual. Both films release close together and trade in the same aesthetic—robots, space, mechanical storytelling—so the pairing makes sense.
Standees displaying the joint visual will appear across Japanese cinemas and Animate stores starting October 29. Two properties with overlapping audiences, one promotional push.
Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart continues the story from the 2014 film Expelled from Paradise. Armored Trooper Votoms: The Gray Witch is a new film directed by Mamoru Oshii, drawing from the 1983 TV anime Armored Trooper Votoms—a franchise with serious pedigree in the mecha space.
When release windows align and thematic DNA matches, studios increasingly cross-promote. It's low-friction marketing that gives both films a visibility bump without requiring either to compromise its own story. For viewers, it's a signal that these two are arriving in the same window—worth clearing your calendar for if mecha cinema is your thing.
