Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love Gets January 2027 Premiere

Kadokawa released new footage for Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love, an anime adaptation of Ayune Araragi's manga premiering in Japan in January 2027.

Kazuya Komai directs at Studio Sakura Create. The cast pairs Rinna Isshiki, an elite police officer, with Meishi Rokutanda, an incompetent detective, as they figure out romance together. Deko Akao wrote the script and Shōhei Hamaguchi designed the characters.

The source manga runs in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace Magazine and has nine volumes in print. It hasn't been published in German, so this anime marks the franchise's first major visibility there. The setup—a competent woman with a bumbling man learning what love means—trades on character-driven comedy, the kind that usually survives adaptation. The trailer shows how the studio is handling the tone.
