Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? Anime Lands January 7
The anime "Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?" premieres January 7 on MBS/TBS.
Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? debuts January 7 on MBS, TBS, and 26 affiliated channels as part of the Super Animeism Turbo block, airing Thursdays at 00:26—which is Friday at 12:26 a.m. in real time, because late-night anime scheduling follows its own rules.
The series centers on high school junior Kuroki and his interactions with Mai Chihara, a mysterious classmate. The manga, written by Ryon, launched on GANMA! in June 2021 and won the Next Impact Comic award at the second Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards in 2024.
That's solid credentials for a late-night slot. The title itself suggests the absurdist comedy that works in that window—where the premise doesn't need to land immediately and execution is everything. The manga's award recognition means the adaptation has material that justifies the effort.
