Katsuhisa Minami's manga adaptation has already proven itself as a crossover hit. The original series ran from November 2014 to November 2019 and spawned two live-action films in 2019 and 2021 before getting the anime treatment. The first season landed on Disney+ globally and Hulu in the United States, giving the show a solid streaming foothold.
The premise—following a legendary assassin trying to live a quiet life—has clearly resonated across formats. A sequel manga series also emerged from the property, so there's plenty of material in the pipeline. Season 2 will continue adapting that story for anime audiences.
