Nintendo Names Team Behind Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Remake
Nintendo reveals the team behind the Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2.
Nintendo has announced who's leading the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2. The Entertainment Planning & Development Production Group No. 3 is handling the project, with franchise producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi at the helm.
The development team was actively encouraged to make whatever changes felt necessary for the remake. This signals something beyond a straight port or visual refresh—the people working on it have been trusted to think about what Ocarina of Time could be for a new generation, which suggests real consideration has gone into how to approach one of gaming's most beloved adventures.
The remake launches November 5 for the Switch 2. For anyone who's spent time with the original on N64 or its 3DS port, there's something reassuring about knowing that familiar hands—particularly Aonuma, who's been central to the Zelda franchise's direction for decades—are involved in bringing Link's ocarina-playing journey back to life.
