BS12's Sunday Anime Theater is running a Gundam marathon, and the lineup includes some heavy hitters. Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz Doan's Island gets its first free broadcast on August 30, kicking off a run that will see the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam movie trilogy and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack air throughout September. All broadcasts drop every Sunday at 7 PM.

This is the first time Cucuruz Doan's Island—the 2022 film that revisited a classic arc from the original series—has aired free-to-air in Japan. The Zeta trilogy and Char's Counterattack, the 1988 sequel that remains one of the franchise's most consequential entries, round out the slate.

For anyone who's been meaning to catch up on Gundam's theatrical output without the ticket price, this is the move. Sunday evenings just got a lot more mecha-heavy.
