Castlevania: Belmont's Curse hits Switch this October

The Belmont legacy is about to get a fresh coat of blood. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse arrives on Nintendo Switch on October 15, alongside simultaneous releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin—the studios behind the acclaimed Dead Cells—and published by Konami, the game plants Trevor and Rose Belmont in medieval Paris, where they'll hunt monsters armed with the series' most iconic weapon: the Vampire Killer whip. Classic Castlevania antagonists like Death, Medusa, and Carmilla are back to make their lives miserable.

The partnership between Evil Empire and Motion Twin suggests a blend of their design sensibilities, which could mean fluid combat and the kind of replayability that defined Dead Cells. For a franchise that's spent decades defining gothic action-adventure games, handing the keys to developers known for punishing, polished gameplay is an intriguing choice.
