Bocchi the Rock! Gets a Movie in 2027

Aki Hamaji's Bocchi the Rock! is getting a theatrical film. Titled Bocchi the Rock! the Movie: Footprints of the Stars, it arrives in 2027 with director Shin Wakabayashi and screenwriter Erika Yoshida at CloverWorks.

The manga, published in English by Yen Press, already spawned a television anime and two compilation films. This new feature-length entry is the franchise's next major push—a genuine vote of confidence in material that clearly resonates with audiences.

No plot details have been announced yet. The title suggests something bigger than the TV series' slice-of-life school-band setup, but that's speculation. One of manga's most successful recent properties is getting a proper theatrical moment.
