Apothecary Diaries First Film Trailer

The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure is coming to theaters. The franchise's first theatrical feature will premiere in Japan on December 11, 2026, with Crunchyroll handling North American and worldwide distribution rights.

Director Norihiro Naganuma is steering the film, with TOHO Animation STUDIO on production duties. A new character trailer featuring Maomao and Jinshi has just dropped, spotlighting the pair as they navigate a mystery centered on a secret treasure hidden in a city on the water.

For those tracking the franchise: this is the leap from screen to cinema. The story promises the same blend of poison, intrigue, and sharp character work that made the series land, now scaled up for the big screen. The December 2026 date gives the production runway, and Crunchyroll's global reach means Western audiences won't be left waiting for a localized release.

The trailer is live now if you want your first look at how Maomao and Jinshi handle the treasure hunt.
