Tetsuya Chiba's 70-Year Legacy Gets a Free Print Show

Tetsuya Chiba, the manga architect behind Ashita no Joe, is getting a retrospective that matters. The '70th Anniversary Tetsuya Chiba Print Exhibition' opens July 22 at Osaka Takashimaya and runs through July 28, 2026—and it's free to walk in.

The show will feature around 80 prints, including new works created specifically for the milestone. This isn't a dusty archive moment. Chiba's influence on manga structure, character work, and the sheer emotional weight of serialized storytelling shaped everything that came after him.
