After more than two decades of dominating the sports manga landscape, The Prince of Tennis is preparing for its final serve. The series, which has captivated readers since 1999, will conclude in the September issue of Jump SQ. hitting shelves on August 4, 2026.

Before that curtain call, the franchise is getting a proper send-off. On July 15, anan magazine will release an issue featuring The Prince of Tennis on its back cover with exclusive gravure content—a fitting tribute to a series that has transcended manga to become a cultural touchstone across games, anime, and merchandise.

The timing aligns with a nostalgic push for the property. On July 30, KONAMI will release remastered versions of two adventure games from the franchise: Gakuensai no Oujisama and Dokidoki Survival. These remasters suggest the company isn't letting the series fade quietly; instead, it's mining the archives to give fans old and new a chance to revisit the world that made The Prince of Tennis a phenomenon.

Twenty-seven years is a remarkable run for any manga. The series has survived multiple anime adaptations, spin-offs, and an ever-shifting landscape of reader tastes. That it's getting a deliberate, multi-platform farewell—rather than simply ending and vanishing—speaks to the affection both the industry and fans still hold for it.
