PlayStation State of Play September 2026: New Trailers, Games, and Controllers

Sony's latest State of Play event brought a solid lineup of announcements and fresh looks at some eagerly anticipated titles. The showcase featured new footage for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which Square Enix confirmed is heading to PlayStation on April 8, 2027. Beyond the Final Fantasy universe, the event revealed Maneater 2 for a 2027 release, bringing back the absurdist shark action that caught people's attention the first time around. Sony also took the wraps off two new limited edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by GTA 6, giving collectors something tangible to look forward to alongside the game itself.

The State of Play Japan segment offered an extended look at Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, which launches October 1, 2026, as part of the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. It's a nice reminder that Sucker Punch's samurai saga continues to expand.
