New HALLOWEEN Video Game Set for 2026 Release
Embody Michael Myers in the upcoming Halloween video game!
One of the key highlights from Gamescom is the announcement of a new Halloween video game, scheduled for release in 2026. Titled Halloween: The Game, this asymmetric stealth horror experience invites players to immerse themselves in the terrifying world of John Carpenter’s iconic 1978 film. While some believe this to be the first Halloween video game, a previous title was released for the Atari 2600 in 1983.
Under the executive production of John Carpenter, the game will offer both single and multiplayer modes. Players have the option to control one of the townsfolk trying to evade "The Boogeyman," or take on the role of Michael Myers as he stalks the streets of Haddonfield, searching for his next victim.
The official synopsis promises a chilling adventure, stating:
“Step into the chilling world of John Carpenter’s genre-defining film, now transformed into a suspenseful one-versus-many stealth horror experience.”
As a civilian, players will need to remain in the shadows, warn other residents, and seek a way to contact authorities, all while Michael Myers aims to create terror by cutting phone lines and executing his sinister plans.
Along with the announcement, fans can view the first trailer and character designs, including Doctor Loomis, portrayed by the late Donald Pleasence in the original films.
Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating:
“Working with Compass International Pictures and Further Front has been a dream.”
He noted their valuable insights helped ensure the game stayed true to the spirit of the beloved film. Malek Akkad, President of Compass International Pictures, added,
“We are very excited to have partnered up with the great team at IllFonic to bring the definitive digital version of Halloween to video game fans everywhere.”
