The production committee has locked in 2027 for the second season of Mayonaka Heart Tune, the anime adaptation of the manga also known in the West as Tune In to the Midnight Heart. The series will pick up where it left off, following Arisu Yamabuki's investigation into the identity of the mysterious broadcaster Apollo, now with fresh faces in the mix.
The core creative team is staying put. Masayuki Takahashi returns as general director, with Yukie Sugawara supervising scripts. Tomoyuki Shitaya handles character designs, and Kuniyuki Takahashi composes the music—the same lineup that shaped the first season's sound and visual identity.
Two new characters are joining the cast: Riina Yamabuki, voiced by Ami Koshimizu, and Mito Yamabuki, voiced by Kaede Hondo. Their roles in the unfolding mystery remain unspecified, but the addition signals the story's expansion beyond Arisu's solo quest.
The 2027 air date gives the production a comfortable runway. Keeping the original director and composer on board typically signals confidence in the formula—no major overhauls, just continuation. For fans who stuck with season one, that's the reassurance that matters.
