Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls just locked in its first DLC character during San Diego Comic-Con, and it's a heavy hitter. Phoenix Cyclops is coming as part of the Year 1 Character & Stage Pass, with Ray Chase reprising the role for the game's 4v4 tag team format.

The reveal came alongside the unveiling of the game's opening movie, directed by Daisuke Suzuki at Studio Sanzigen. That opening sequence features an original theme song called "Stronger as One," performed by Keiko Terada and mayu—the kind of production value that signals this fighting game is swinging for something beyond the usual arcade fare.

The game itself launches August 6 on PlayStation 5 and PC. If you've been waiting to test the waters, an open beta runs July 24-26 across both platforms, giving you a window to see how the mechanics actually feel before full launch. The Ultimate Edition includes pre-order bonuses and additional content for players looking to go all-in from day one.

The roster at launch includes Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man alongside the rest of the cast, and the game ships with an Episode Mode that tells its story in motion comic format—a detail that underscores how seriously Marvel and Arc System Works are treating the presentation here.
