Marvel Comics Celebrates Clayton Crain

This January, Marvel Comics pays tribute to renowned artist Clayton Crain with a special collection of 20 "Clayton Crain Variant Covers." These covers will highlight beloved characters such as Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, The Punisher, Venom, and Wolverine.

Crain's signature art style has made a significant impact across the Marvel Universe, bringing life to characters ranging from Ghost Rider to the X-Force. To honor his impressive career, Marvel is launching these stunning covers that will be available from January through February.

The Covers

The variant covers will feature notable characters Crain has helped to define, including Venom and Archangel. Each of the 20 pieces is crafted using acrylic paint and represents approximately 150 hours of work. Crain expressed his excitement, stating,

"Several of them, even after nearly 27 years in the industry, represent my first shot at a published piece of that character. This was a great time, and I am thankful for my editors for their confidence in completing such a marathon of covers."

Crain's artistry includes works on titles like Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears, Venom vs. Carnage, and Carnage, U.S.A., to name a few.
