Gachiakuta Season 2 is Coming, and the Pit Gets Darker

Gachiakuta's first season left viewers hungry for more of its graffiti-splattered dystopia, and Anime Expo 2026 just delivered: the series is officially returning for season two.

Based on Kei Urana's manga, Gachiakuta has carved out genuine space in the shonen landscape with its visual audacity and deeply weird power system. The show doesn't look or feel like much else on air, and that's precisely why it's caught on. A teaser shown at the expo hints at the new season maintaining that distinctive aesthetic while pushing deeper into the world—Rudo's journey through the Pit will expand with fresh characters and new narrative territory to explore.

Bones Film, the studio behind Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Mob Psycho 100, continues handling animation duties. That pedigree matters here; the studio has proven it can handle both intricate character work and the kind of kinetic action sequences Gachiakuta demands. The teaser suggests they're not resting on season one's laurels.

No official release date has been locked in yet, though Crunchyroll will stream it when it arrives. That's the full picture for now—which, admittedly, isn't much. But for a series that's already demonstrated it has something to say and a singular way of saying it, the promise of more is enough.
