Sequel to 'Expelled from Paradise' Announced for 2026

During the Aniplex Online Fest, a new teaser for the sequel to the 2014 film Rakuen Tsuihō -Expelled from Paradise- was unveiled. Titled Kokoro no Resonance, this film marks a significant return to the beloved sci-fi universe more than a decade after the original release.

The original movie, directed by Seiji Mizushima and penned by Gen Urobuchi, was praised for its innovative storytelling and impressive 3D animation. Kokoro no Resonance plans to pick up the narrative threads from its predecessor and is set to hit theaters in 2026.

Initially announced as Rakuen Tsuihō: Liberated from Paradise, the project was later officially renamed Rakuen Tsuihō -Expelled from Paradise- Kokoro no Resonance. Promotional materials have occasionally used the variant Rakuen Tsuihō: Kokoro no Resonance as well.
